About the PROPRIETOR (click to expand)
My name is Michael Sanders and I've recently arrived in Utah to open my shop here in Downtown Salt Lake City. I've been visiting Utah for years and each time I went back East I left a little piece of my heart in Salt Lake City. Being an East Coast native, I love the energy and constant surprise on every corner that is New York City, however after a really fun (but stressful) career conceptualizing, starting and running restaurants, cocktail lounges and night clubs, I found myself wanting something a little more... calm.... a little more daylight-oriented.... and especially a little "fresher" -- say, like fresh air, nature and a home to call my own! So, on a recent visit, after spending a few fantastic weeks here, meeting loads of great new people, not only did I leave a little bit piece of my heart in Salt Lake, but I left a little bit of instruction for my real estate agent and the next thing you know I'd made an offer on a place and was packing my bags (and car) to set up camp on the Wasatch Front -- and I could not be more thrilled! Of course I miss the view of the Manhattan skyline, but every time I glance East, I am awestruck by the natural beauty of the Wasatch range. It feels like home already!

About my shop NOW AND AGAIN (click to expand)
My passion for design, furniture and "all things vintage" began early for me, a very aware young lad who noticed beauty in so many things. Growing up in Philly in the 60's and 70's, I was exposed to such variety, from so many eras, that I ultimately developed a taste for both the past and the present -- vintage and modern. I put this passion to work in NY and used my knowledge to procure and arrange unique objects and organize them into complete interior environments that had a lot of visual interest, warmth, texture and excitement. And of course, always with a hint of nostalgia and a nod to the past. Frankly, I was never surprised that those hardcore minimal spaces of the 80's came and went so fast because I believe the human spirit is drawn to warmth, color, shape, proportion and whimsy and these are the qualities I look for in the objects I offer at NOW AND AGAIN. Whether it's the "NOW" items like the gorgeously simple yet complicated pleated pendant lights, or the "AGAIN" items like the wildly colorful and kaleidoscopic set of 50s Pucci bathroom linens and towels, these objects all seem perfectly comfortable in each other's company on my shelves as they will in your home!
